Abstract: The free vortices behind triangle obstacles are investigated based on the potential flow theory in this paper.It is found that the stable free vortex behind a triangle obstacle is neutrally stable.Moreover,the stationary positions of the free vortices behind various triangle obstacles are provided.Under experiment condition,the stable vortex can be captured only when suction is applied on the side walls of the obstacle.
